Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin is a CD released in 2013, featuring classical piano music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, and Frédéric Chopin. The piano works on the disc are performed by Eveliina Sumelius-Lindblom. The recording was made in Palmgren Hall in Pori.
The album contains four works. From Ludwig van Beethoven, the pieces heard are Rondo in G, op. 129, "Alla ingharese quasi un capriccio" and 11 Bagatelles, op. 119. The selection is completed by Robert Schumann's Fantasie in C, op. 17 and Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie in F minor, op. 49. Juha Hakulinen and Pekko Lindblom served as artistic producers of the album. The recording engineers were Jarkko Kylväjä and Henri Mäki-Kahma, and BSM-Studio was responsible for mastering.
Eveliina Sumelius-Lindblom, who began playing the piano at the age of four, graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy in 2003, and her teachers have included Liisa Pohjola, Leena Nikula, and Paavo Pohjola. She has also worked as a lecturer in piano and accompaniment at Palmgren Conservatory and as artistic director of Kirkkonummi Music Festival. The album booklet includes Hannu-Ilari Lampila's essay Nuottikirjoitus ja 1800-luvun instrumentaalimusiikki, which discusses the Romantic era's concept of instrumental music as absolute music and the significance of musical notation for the interpretation of a work.
