Product description
The Laulun ystävät package consists of two CDs: the recordings Laulun ilo and Laulun lahja are included. Kaisa Peni has served as the artistic producer and Juha-Pekka Teirikangas as the recording engineer for both albums.
Laulun ilo contains 27 tracks and its music is mainly performed by children. The album features, among others, Paljon ois aihetta lapsella kiittää, composed by Väinö Viitasalo with lyrics by Oke Peltonen, sung by Vanamo Säily with Matteus Säily playing the piano, as well as Sininen uni, composed by Tapio Rautavaara, with Tommi Tuovinen playing the guitar and Mikael Säily playing the cello. The album Laulun lahja contains 20 tracks of traditional music as well as new compositions and arrangements. It features, for example, Oi kiitos, sa Luojani armollinen, composed by Oskar Merikanto with lyrics by Eino Leino, sung by Simo Inkeroinen and Enni Pöykkö, with Marja Hämäläinen playing the piano.
28 music makers of different ages participated in the project for the Laulun ilo album, and each performer chose their song and its execution method themselves. Laulun lahja, on the other hand, was realized in collaboration between Antaisin Oy and the Laulun ystäväin Facebook group. Its music, arrangements, and ensembles were realized by the singers, instrumentalists, and composers performing on the album.
