Product description
The Joulun lapset package consists of two CDs: Joulun lapsi I and Joulun lapsi II. Kaisa Peni served as the artistic producer and Juha-Pekka Teirikangas as the recording engineer for both recordings.
The Joulun lapsi I disc contains 18 tracks. These include, among others, Jouluaattoyö, with music and lyrics by Aimo Mustonen, Konsta Jylhän joululaulu, and Varpunen jouluaamuna, with music by Otto Kotilainen. The singers include Claudia Kumpula and Niilo Tuovinen, and the musicians include pianist Monika Lehtola and guitarist Tommi Tuovinen. The second disc, Joulun lapsi II, contains 19 tracks, such as the songs Taivas sylissäni, Maa on niin kaunis, and Jouluyö, juhlayö, with music by Franz Gruber. Vocal parts feature Hilja Hökkä and Adele Koskela, among others, and accompaniment is provided by, for example, pianist Siina Rehu as well as Meri Hätönen on cello and pan flute.
Behind the recordings is a project involving music makers of different ages. Each performer chose their piece and how to perform it themselves.
